Soroti City — Police in Soroti City have launched investigations into a tragic incident in which a young man died after reportedly falling from the third floor of Soroti Main Market.

The deceased has been identified as Okiring Mark, believed to be around 20 years old. The incident occurred on the evening of April 9, 2026, at approximately 7:40 PM, sending shockwaves through traders and residents in the busy commercial hub.

According to East Kyoga Regional Police Commander Ibrahim Saiga, preliminary findings indicate that the young man fell from the upper level of the market under circumstances that are still unclear.
