A tragic road accident has claimed the life of one student and left dozens injured in Mukura on Monday morning in Ngora District .
The incident occurred at around 11:00 a.m. on March 23, 2026, involving more than 55 students of Mukura Memorial Secondary School who were being transported to participate in secondary school football matches.
According to preliminary reports, the students were dangerously overcrowded on the vehicle, with some seated on iron bars that later broke, causing several students to fall onto the road, while others were left exposed—raising serious safety concerns. What was expected to be a routine journey quickly turned into a disaster.

He reportedly fled the scene immediately after the accident and is currently on the run.
