Dolopiiko Responds to Fight Rumours: Claims Attack by Yona Chanlee's Egali at Calvin Echodu Campaign Rally

Dolopiiko Opado, the renowned comedian and MC from Teso, has finally broken his silence on the violent altercation that took place yesterday at the opening campaign rally of Hon. Echodu David Calvin in Pamba, Soroti. Dolopiiko, who uses the stage name RCC, took to his Facebook page to clarify the events surrounding the fight, offering his side of the story while condemning the actions of those involved.

In his post, Dolopiiko recounted what he described as an "unusual" encounter that turned violent after he performed at the rally. The comedian explained that he had made a public comment during his stage performance, which may have contributed to the altercation. "Dear Hon. Calvin, congrats for winning the CEC. But my prayer is that as you go to Kampala, pass via Kumi and pick a broom to sweep all the looters and corrupt people in NRM," Dolopiiko said, adding that he had criticized the low pay given to local artists, specifically referencing how an artist from Teso was paid just 100,000 shillings after performing at a presidential rally.

The statement, which targeted the financial treatment of local artists and political corruption within the NRM, seemed to have hit a nerve. Dolopiiko went on to say that his remarks about the state of local artists, including a pointed joke about Yona Chanlee, were misunderstood by some members of the crowd. "How can an artist from Teso be paid a hundred thousand shillings in a presidential rally after performance? Just 100k, these artists are still looking miserable. Artists have no difference from whom they're. #Yona has not changed a shirt up to now. Hehehehe," Dolopiiko wrote.

Following his performance, Dolopiiko described how Yona, accompanied by his entourage, approached him. "Yona came alone to me, and I knew it was greetings," Dolopiiko explained. However, things quickly escalated when Dolopiiko realized the situation was unusual. "I tried to Cheptegei, while pushing the walking vulnerable person, Yona, away from me, but he seemed prepared."

The situation took a turn for the worse, as Dolopiiko claims he was physically attacked and robbed by Yona's entourage. "They made off with my 700k plus, and a small phone," Dolopiiko wrote. The comedian emphasized that he was not looking for a physical confrontation but was left with no choice as the situation became more aggressive.

"For those of you who know me, you know I don’t go into physical punches publicly," Dolopiiko said. "But expect a fundamental basic and management of humiliation from the RESPECTFUL NELSON MANDELA OPADO RCC, BECAUSE I AM NEVER TOLERANT ON HOOLIGANS. The only suit for a dense molecule is law. Let his hand face the legislature."

Dolopiiko's post made it clear that he was not backing down. He confirmed that he would be taking legal action against those responsible for the attack, promising to pursue justice. "The law is my suit, and I will let it take its course," he affirmed.

Public Reactions: A Divided Opinion

The incident has sparked a wide range of reactions, with some fans and fellow artists coming out in strong support of Dolopiiko, condemning the attack and highlighting the need for better treatment of local entertainers. Many have expressed disappointment that artists like Dolopiiko continue to face disrespect and violence despite their hard work in the entertainment industry.

"Artists should be respected, no matter their role," one social media user commented in support of Dolopiiko. "We shouldn’t let this kind of violence slide. We need to stand together as an industry."

However, there are also those who support Yona Chanlee, pointing out that the situation may have been influenced by the personal and professional tensions between the two men. Yona, a legendary artist in Uganda, is well-known for his music and influential presence in the entertainment scene. His supporters argue that the confrontation might have been a misunderstanding or a reaction to public comments made by Dolopiiko.

"I respect both Dolopiiko and Yona, but we must remember that both of them are influential figures," said one of Yona's fans. "It’s unfortunate that things got violent, but we don’t know the full story from Yona's side."

Others are calling for mutual understanding between Dolopiiko and Yona, urging both parties to seek a peaceful resolution to the conflict. "Both of them are talented and important figures in our community," one local leader commented. "We need to focus on unity and not let this divide us. Let’s encourage dialogue and understanding."

Legal Action and Industry Reform

Despite the differing opinions, Dolopiiko has made it clear that he will pursue legal action and hold those responsible for the violence accountable. "I will not let this go. The law will take its course," Dolopiiko emphasized in his post.

The incident has also raised broader questions about the treatment of entertainers in Uganda, particularly during political rallies. Many local artists have spoken out about the lack of proper compensation and respect in such settings, with Dolopiiko’s post shining a spotlight on the issue.

As of now, Yona Chanlee has yet to publicly comment on the altercation, leaving many wondering about his side of the story. The public is waiting to see how the situation will unfold and whether Dolopiiko’s call for justice will lead to any changes in the way artists are treated in Uganda’s entertainment and political spaces.

For now, Dolopiiko’s fans and supporters continue to rally behind him, hoping that his pursuit of justice will not only hold those responsible accountable but also spark a wider conversation about respect and fairness in the entertainment industry.
