Pallisa District Local Government has received a motorcycle donation from Centenary Bank to strengthen communication, field coordination, and monitoring of government programs across the district.

The motorcycle, a white Honda XL registration number UDE 814F, was officially handed over during a ceremony attended by district leaders and bank officials.

Speaking at the handover, Gabriel Oketch Akoli, Branch Manager of Centenary Bank Pallisa, said the donation reflects the strong partnership between the bank and the district administration.

“This is a donation from Centenary Bank purposely to enhance communication, activity work, and monitoring. You are our strong partner and we appreciate you. We trust you know the appropriate department where the motorcycle will be allocated,” Akoli said.

The district’s Chief Administrative Officer, Felix Alex Majeme, commended the bank for its continued support, assuring stakeholders that the motorcycle would be used strictly for official duties, particularly field operations and supervision of government programs.

Majid Dhikhusooka, the Resident District Commissioner, described the donation as timely, noting that improved mobility will strengthen monitoring and accountability, especially in the implementation of the Parish Development Model.

He explained that reliable transport will enable officers to regularly follow up on parish-level projects, ensuring effective service delivery and proper use of government resources.

District leaders further revealed that the motorcycle will be allocated to Martin Okike, who oversees the financial inclusion pillar under the Parish Development Model. They noted that his work had previously been hindered by limited access to dependable transport, affecting his ability to monitor activities in remote areas.

With the new motorcycle, officials expressed confidence that coordination, supervision, and outreach efforts will significantly improve, ultimately benefiting communities across Pallisa District.

District authorities praised Centenary Bank for its continued commitment to supporting local development initiatives and improving livelihoods through strategic partnerships with government institutions.

Other officers who witnessed the handover included the Principal Chief Administrative Officer and the District Inventory Officer.
