Police in Kumi District have arrested a 41-year-old man in connection with a disturbing case of alleged aggravated defilement involving four minors, raising serious concerns about child safety in the region.
The suspect, identified as Lomongin Joseph, is currently in custody as investigations continue at Kumi Central Police Station. Authorities say the case involves children aged between five and nine years, whose identities have been withheld to protect their privacy.
According to South Kyoga Regional Police spokesperson ASP Stephen Mukombe, the case was first reported following an incident that allegedly occurred on the 21st. However, as investigations progressed, more victims came forward, expanding the scope of the case to four children.
